Jim Kellett is running for State Senate in Legislative District 44. With more than 30 years living, working, and volunteering in the Snohomish community, Jim is a leader who thinks “outside the box,” believes strongly in individual rights, and will work to improve education and job opportunities throughout the 44th District.
Jim is running for State Senate because he wants to make a difference in our community. Having spent his entire career in the private sector working to create jobs and helping prepare others for their financial future, Jim believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping people turn their dreams into a reality. As State Senator, his top three priorities will be jobs, education, and transportation.
Jim and his family moved to Snohomish County in 1984. He held various management roles since the late 1970’s until he took a position with Edward Jones Investments in 1994 where he currently serves as a financial advisor and partner.
Active in the community, Jim is currently the president of the Everett Rowing Association, president of the Machias Ridge South Homeowners Association, past president and board member of the Everett Chorale Association and a former manager and coach for the North Snohomish Little League.
Jim was born at Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco, CA. He is the son of an architect and professional seamstress who have been married for 62 years. Growing up, Jim lived in Guam while his parents were stationed there during his father’s Army career. Jim’s father-in-law served in the Navy for 23 years as a Navy pilot and was a school teacher for 19 years.
Jim has been married for 29 years to Sharon Miles Kellett. Sharon is an RN in the emergency room at Valley General Hospital in Monroe. She is also a Critical Care Transport Nurse with Rural Metro Ambulance and is on call with International Medical Surgical Response Team (IMSuRT) a federal agency for emergency services under the US Department of Health and Human Services.
